Welcome Back Newsletter 08/9

Welcome back boys, girls and parents to Pengam and good luck for the 2008/9 season which starts on Saturday 6th September 2008.

A FEW REMINDERS:

1st Instalment of “Subs” £35 are due by the end of September 2008 and the 2nd Instalment £30 by end of January 2009 – players will not play if “Subs” are not paid – if parents have any problems please see Team Manager for alternative payment method.

Proposal raised at one of the meetings – each team to make an effort to raise funds which will assist the ever growing needs - a target was suggested of £100 per team, the older players could raise funds from bag packing in Asda or Car Washing, unfortunately the mini’s are unable to take part in either due to Health & Safety and Insurance Regs but they raise funds from food & drinks sold at home games, raffles and by taking part in sponsored laps of St David’s Field.

BOTH OF THE ABOVE POINTS WILL HELP WITH THE FUNDING THAT IS REQUIRED TO KEEP PENGAM RUNNING AS THE CLUB IS SELF-FUNDING BUT PITCHES/ASTRO TURFS ARE PAID FOR IN 10-WEEKLY BLOCK BOOKINGS AND THE CLUB IS IN EVER NEED OF EQUIPMENT, KIT AND TROPHIES FOR PRESENTATION EVENINGS.

Parking at St David’s Field on home games should be on the road – residential side (NOT ON THE KERB AND NOT DOUBLE PARKED).

Players, Parents, Spectators are reminded to read and observe the Codes of Conduct which all Managers have been given to distribute, insurance covers players for games during the Season, players who are registered to Pengam are only permitted to train and play for Pengam, anyone not adhering to this Rule may be asked to leave the club.

NEWS:

Pengam now has a Website, thanks to Jason Hampshire, who has taken the time to create this, the address is: http://www.pengamfc.co.uk/index.htm the site is impressive and already holds information on team fixtures, contact details and photos with links to Islwyn Youth, Welsh F.A and Cardiff City

Please visit, take a look at it and offer any suggestions/comments.

8 boys from Pengam Under 10’s were given the opportunity of a lifetime when they walked out with the Welsh Squad as “Player Mascots” in the friendly International against Georgia on the 20th August 2008 at the Liberty Stadium, Swansea.  Great recognition for Pengam.

ADDITIONAL:

·         It would help and be much appreciated if anyone would like to donate items/prizes for Raffles.

·         A warm welcome is given to families, friends and spectators to attend and support games, at home venues bacon rolls, teas, coffees, soft drinks are served and this helps with raising funds for the club.
